Guided Tours for Schools and Universities
Groups of schoolchildren and university students are guided through the various spaces of the Museum, to improve their understanding of the exhibits and activities that are offered. Through education, Maya weavings, their techniques, use and cultural background are better grasped by children and adolescents.
The tour also includes a presentation of one of the three videos available in the Museum. The tour takes approximately an hour, although it can take longer, depending of the curiosity of the children and there desire to learn more about the display.
In an effort to make sure the goals of the visit are met, the Education Department can tailor the visit according to the knowledge and interest level of the group.
You can also add a workshop to your visit!

In addition the Museum offers to the schools or universities that desire a snack that includes: a sandwich, chips or similar, dessert and juice. If you wish to include this service in your visit please contact us in order to obtain more information
The Museum has also taken into account the importance of teaching about social responsibility. This is why it has created the project: “Ayúdame a tejer mi Educación” /“Help Me Weave My Education” (LINK CON PROYECTO en RELATED PROJECTS). This project consists in private schools donating funds so that children from these schools can sponsor children from public school so that they can have the opportunity to “weave their education”. This collaboration helps to expand the knowledge of our rich culture to all Guatemalan children in an interactive and fun way outside the class rooms. If you wish to help our children with this project, please contact us in order to receive more information.
